Greetings!
My name is Albert C. Goerlitz, but most people call me Al or Mr. G. In the fall I will be starting my 44th year teaching public school. I have taught in grades K-8 and I am currently teaching our schools Alternative Education Program for grades 9-12.
Throughout my career I have dealt with Gifted Students as well Special Needs students. I have coached both boy’s and girl’s athletics from varsity sports down to 4th and 5th grade. I have been a leader for 4H and church youth group. I have been the Huddle leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in our town for the last 26 years. My Parents both taught special needs children from age three to 21 and my wife and son are special education teachers as well, so from a young age on I was taught to put the needs of ALL children ahead of my own and that is a lesson my own children have learned well. There are five children in my family and I also have three grandchildren.
For years we have opened our home and farm to Early Childhood classes, boys without fathers, and anyone who needs a place to belong. Many people bring their children and families to our place to see the farm, make apple cider, go on sleigh rides and have experiences with our animals. This past winter we did many horse drawn sleigh rides for those who were inclined. As I get ready to retire from teaching, I have decided that I want to link two of my passions by using horses to work with people who have a special need. I have been doing it for years, but now I am EAGALA certified and looking forward to reaching out to people beyond my circle of friends and neighbors. I have been honored to receive Teacher of the Year, Coach of the Year, Highest honors in refereeing, 4-H Leadership, Teachers Union Outstanding Service Award, and I have risen to the level of president for almost every organization I have been in since high school.
I have lived a full life with the help of my parents and hardworking, loving wife Peggy. We don’t travel much because we have everything we could ever want at home (and it is hard to find someone to do chores). My family, friends and past and present students are my joy. They have gotten me through 41 surgeries and tough recoveries. Every day is a blessing and I try to live them to the fullest.

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn,
I have worked in childcare for quite a few years now. Childcare has always come naturally to me, part of that is because I am one of seven children and was used to caring for my younger siblings. My career in childcare started when I got one of my first jobs at a daycare at the age of 18, since then I have nannied and even participated in some children's ministries while I was living in Mexico. While working with children I got to teach them some kindergarten things such as learning colors, ABCs and so forth, I personally feel like I have learned a lot of patience and perseverance.
I've also always enjoyed being around animals. Growing up I had two of my own horses, right now all I have is a Siberian husky who I enjoy hiking and camping with. I also enjoy working out, hunting with my brothers to put food in the freezer, playing volleyball and most things outdoors. I recently got my own place in the country where I am able to have my own garden and hopefully my own horse again soon and am excited to see what the next few years bring!

Hello, my name is Caroline!
I am from central Wisconsin and raised on a dairy farm with my four brothers and one sister. From a young age us children had our own barn chores and tasks around the house. My parents taught us strong faith filled values and also good work ethics that I am thankful for today!
When I was preteen my family went through challenges where I suffered from trauma and brought my solid world crashing down, which I then struggled for years remembering my happy early childhood. After years of searching and healing and working through past trauma I am thankful that today I can say my family is back to being ‘healthy’ again. I have also personally navigated cultural differences and have learned how to embrace confidence in myself and be able to do hard things. From my childhood experiences and learning self-worth it has become a passion to help and support others to be the best version of themselves and being able to overcome the challenges in their lives.
I have been with Strides since 2022 offering skill development services. I have expanded my knowledge in the mental health field and have experience in working with depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism, mood disorder, parent psychoeducation, trauma and substance abuse. Working with the many various cases and being there to assist, guide and support individuals who are struggling has been both rewarding and fulfilling. I look forward to continuing to grow my knowledge and being able to assist each individual to live their best lives!

Hello!
Iam happy to introduce myself and I appreciate you taking the time to read about my ordinary life! I got married in 2022 to my high school sweetheart and we have two dogs. Loxley, an Australian shepherd and Leonard, a golden retriever. 3 months before our wedding, we bought an old one-room schoolhouse to completely remodel. Since then, we have been testing our handiness, patience, and marriage. It is going as any renovation does. Along with the endless list of tasks and the ginormous budget needed to achieve the dreams, we have grown to appreciate the squeaky old floors, drafty windows, and slow-growing pride for the things we have done to make it our own.
I graduated in December of 2021, from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, with a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders and a certificate in gerontology. I am currently attending UWEC for my masters in speech and language pathology. I will graduate in May of 2025. (YAY)
When I graduated with my bachelor’s degree, I was passionate about working with the adult and aging population. After my first few internships for my masters, I have done a complete 180 and have found myself wanting to work with children. Since then, I have found my favorite thing about working with kids is that I can express my creativity and act weirdly with minimal judgement. Ever since my newfound passion for working with children, I have had the opportunity to engage with children in a variety of contexts. I have appreciated the personal growth and learning that comes with understanding how to support children the best I can.
I have recently had the opportunity to facilitate an elementary equine supported reading program. This is something that has consumed my time, as I am committed to creating a fun and supportive program that is rooted in the evidence of equine assisted services and state research-based reading standards. I am looking forward to seeing the growth of this program.

Hello, my name is Autumn. Growing up I was living in separate homes. For a while I thought it was normal for kids to go back and forth from moms to dads house. Later I found that not to be true. Living in two homes always brought two different opinions and one was always upset with the other and I found myself stuck in the middle. I was also raised in a home with an alcoholic. Because of these experiences I would like to say I’m a pretty tough person. I hope to use these experiences to help others through their own situations.
I recently graduated from Owen Withee High School and started college at Chippewa Valley Tech where I will pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. Throughout high school I liked to keep myself busy by competing in sports year around and staying involved in clubs. I also like to help out in the elementary as much as possible. I have two younger sisters who also did sports so often I was helping at their practices and coaching their away games. I always found joy in helping kids. Outside of school and now college, I work three jobs, so you could imagine there is not much free time, but I make the most of what I have. Often you will find me hunting, fishing, or tractor pulling, but I recently took on a new hobby of racing. I like to say I am a pretty bubbly person, but that wasn’t always the case. I used to be a very shy person, I wouldn’t talk or even play on the playground with other kids. After years of persuasion, I finally broke out of my shell and now you can’t get me to be quiet. Being a peer mentor for CLTS and looking to begin ISDE for CCS has helped not only me grow but helped others. I truly enjoy what I do, and I am very excited to see this program grow.

Hello, my name is Priscilla. I have worked in the youth ministry field for the last 4 years at my
church, dealing with a variety of trauma and many different home life issues. In addition, my nephew
was diagnosed with Severe Epilepsy in 2013. In 2014, I was assisting with his care and learning his new way of life.
I have a degree in Business Management with a Concentration in Human Resources and worked as an HR professional from 2017 until 2020. I realized this was no longer a passion of mine and wanted to pursue another career field. After having a baby, I became a Stay-at-home mom and due to the changes associated with 2020, I also became a teacher for my two stepchildren who at the time were a preschooler and a 4th grader.
I have some great aspirations for my personal life as well as professionally, but in both, I want to be able to help people move forward and have growth/change in their life. During my time as a youth leader, I have learned that some of the most difficult children come from a variety of backgrounds, but they need love and someone to truly believe in them.
Fun Facts About me:
● I love spending as much time by the lake or pool with family
and friends.
● I love Paddleboarding and enjoy teaching my kids and friends.
● I love camping and spending time outside.
● I am a big movie fan and love Marvel and DC movies
● I have 2 step boys and 2 boys under 2 years old of my own
I look forward to working with you and feel free to ask me any additional questions.

Hi, I’m Ray!
Originally, I’m from a small town in central Wisconsin, but I just moved to Eau Claire to finish my studies. In just under a year, I’ll have the degree needed to become an accountant. I’ve got three other siblings and have been around a whole slew of different animals my entire life.
My parents got divorced during mine and my siblings’ developmental years which caused us to go through a lot of stress and depression at young ages. All of this in addition to transitioning into middle and high school was very challenging, but we were able to adapt and overcome.
Since then, our bonds have grown stronger than ever and we now have the abilities to help others cope with stress, mental health challenges, and suicidal ideations. By the time I made it to college, I was finally able to embrace who I am and help others find themselves.
I have been providing skill development services through Strides since 2022. In that time, I’ve been able to learn how to work with people experiencing mental health and mood disorders, ADHD, autism, traumas and substance abuse. In addition to that, I’ve become a big advocate for members of the LGBTQ+ community. As always, I’m constantly looking for ways to improve and grow and encourage others to do the same.

Howdy! My name is Gayle Baehr. I have been an elementary educator for 35 years and just
retired at the end of the school year in May of 2022. I obtained my BS Degree (1986) in
Elementary Education K-8 and a Master in Science Teaching degree (1991) from the UW-Eau
Claire. My love for learning did not end there as I continued to expand my knowledge of working
with kids through professional workshops/trainings, reading professional books and joining
book club discussions throughout my entire teaching career. I was Teacher of the Year at the
Owen-Withee elementary school in 1997 and won the Kohl Fellowship award in 1998.
I have had many life experiences in working with kids over my 35 year teaching career. During
my career, I have taught students from preschool age through the 3rd grade level but I have
interacted with kids at all ages as my school district was PreK-Grade 12. I have been told that I
have the patience of a saint and I find it relatively easy to talk and connect with students. I know
and understand the importance of building a genuine bond with the kids I work with. I have
enjoyed my career immensely and have been truly blessed with the students, parents,
coworkers and the community that I have worked in. I am looking forward to having new
opportunities to work with kids and doing some volunteer work to give back to my community.
I have been happily married for 25 years and have 3 amazing adult children. We all love the
outdoors and have taken many family trips together to WI state parks and our beautiful national
parks. Some of my favorite hobbies are: hiking, kayaking, fishing, camping, rock collecting,
baking, gardening and artsy projects. I also enjoy pets as I have 3 entertaining cats and one
very lovable dog.

Hey there, my name is Shanae!
I would love to tell you a little bit about myself; I was born and raised outside of Rice Lake, WI on a farm. Though this wasn’t your usual Wisconsin farm, it was a commercial contact turkey farm. Oh sure we had some of the typical farm animals: horses, cows, dogs, rabbits, but turkeys for sure outnumbered us all by the thousands!
Through my high school years, after I had milked Frida the milk cow and my school work was finished, I attended night classes at my local college where I started learning sign language. This adventure led to working with individuals with hearing impairments and mental health through Barron county.
After several years of working with many different individuals I decided to venture back to night school and start my studies for nursing. After graduating high school I completed my first course that certified me as a nurse’s aid, but I felt I needed to explore this field before I pursued it any further. Through my time of “testing the waters” as a CNA, my husband and I celebrated our first year of marriage and we found out our first baby was on the way! Today we have a healthy family of five kids with two boys and three girls from 11 to 5 years old. We love having many adventures and enjoy learning inside and outside as a homeschooling family.
From every year to every day, it has been a gift to live, learn, and meet people. I have had the joy to have careers as a business woman, community and healthcare worker, ministry and instructing positions.

My name is Bruce Jahnke. I have had 50 years of ministering to people, especially youth. While in college my life goals changed from working with plants and genetics to people and helping each one to mature from one level to another, convinced each one can make a difference in the world. I worked as a Christian disciple in college, a high school teacher in agriculture and biology, a coach for over 45 years and a youth worker. I had the privilege of being a board member and speaker at youth camps. Mission trips to Mexico and French speaking Africa have given me many cultural and religious experiences that have broadened my understanding and choices in life. A wonderful highlight in my life was to be trained and given the opportunity to help start 15 Christian schools and later to be a consultant to 20 schools. The greatest platform I was graced with is to be a pastor for 43 years and be the principal of the schools that the church had as a ministry. Shepherding both youth and adults has been an avenue to give my life away to teach, train, comfort and love others.
~ISDE Provider
Hello! My name is Justine, I grew up around family members who struggled or lost their battles with mental illness. This created a desire to learn how to help people in those same situations. I Started with nannying jobs for children who had hearing impairments/autism, then as an adult I was a CNA, to being a Respite provider, then onto Mentoring.
Throughout my adulthood I’ve had my own challenges. Having to recognize the areas of my life that were in need of healing and allow others to help me provide opportunities to grow, better myself, create mental perseverance/stability and be the fullest version of myself in order to care for others. While persevering through tough times, I was given compassion, patience, love and kindness freely. I desire to put that same effort into helping each person that crosses my path so that they too can know freedom from adversity.
During my time in respite care I obtained my CNA license. This afforded me the opportunity to work in psych, locked dementia units, nursing home and rehabilitation for about 2 years helping adults and elderly patients. Working in the healthcare field I’ve had the the doors open to obtain my CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certificate, which teaches you the importance of meeting the person where they’re at and teaching you the steps to de-escalating behaviors in the safest ways possible.
In my spare time I am a mother of a toddler who is right by my side as much as possible! He is definitely a momma’s boy! Typically you can find us on a lake kayaking/paddle boarding, playing in the dirt with Tonka trucks, watering our garden or playing at the park. In addition to that, I set aside time for myself around nature, music/singing, outdoor activities, working out and doing art projects! I enjoy what life has to offer and am grateful to have additional opportunities to help others do the same!

Hello there, my name is Rebekah!
I grew up alongside one older sister and was raised by parents that taught me the importance of faith and integrity, of which these values have greatly shaped and impacted my life. Things were not always easy, and I endured many challenges with friendships, family, and identity.
Currently, I serve on the events team at my church, dedicated to bringing hope to families all across the state of Wisconsin. A few years ago, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to serve as a Kids/Teens Leader in Estes Park, Colorado at a wonderful place called Wind River Ranch. This experience was transformative, as I engaged with guests to help them develop skills, overcome their fears, and give them the best experience possible. When I wasn't working with the Kids/Teens there, I was busy helping out wranglers, housekeeping, kitchen staff and filling in wherever my help was needed. The work was sometimes difficult however, the reward far outweighed the exhaustion and hard times. After that I spent the next 5 ½ years of my life working as a bank teller and gathered more knowledge and skills to help out in life and it was a joy to work with each customer.
In my spare time, I love to either be outside enjoying the beauty of nature or perhaps curl up and read a good book inside. I have quite a few hobbies, some of which include photography, hiking, camping, arts and crafts, cosplay and you can almost always find me listening to music. Life can get very busy, so I am always looking to appreciate every moment and enjoy whatever it may bring.
