Mental Health Provider

About the Role

This role combines clinical mental health services with equine-assisted work in a collaborative, team-based setting.

This is not traditional office-based therapy—sessions are active, experiential, and grounded in real-time interactions.

You will work alongside an Equine Specialist to support clients through hands-on experiences with horses.

What This Work Looks Like

You may be:

  • Supporting emotional regulation during horse interactions
  • Helping clients recognize how their internal state affects connection
  • Processing experiences in real time
  • Connecting equine experiences directly to treatment goals

What You’ll Do

  • Provide mental health services through CCS and/or CLTS
  • Facilitate sessions alongside an Equine Specialist
  • Integrate clinical interventions with equine-assisted experiences
  • Support clients in:
    • Emotional regulation
    • Trauma and behavioral challenges
    • Relationship and attachment development
  • Connect sessions to measurable treatment goals
  • Complete documentation and participate in treatment planning
  • Collaborate with families, Service Facilitators, and care teams

Our Clinical Model

  • Natural Lifemanship®
  • Trauma-informed, brain-based care
  • Experiential, relationship-centered approach

Qualifications

  • Licensed or licensed-eligible in Wisconsin (LPC, LPC-IT, LCSW, APSW, LMFT, etc.)
  • Experience with trauma-informed care preferred
  • Interest in equine-assisted services (training provided)
  • Strong clinical and collaboration skills

Why This Role Matters

This work allows clients to experience change, not just talk about it.

You’ll be part of a model that creates real, lasting impact.

Growth & Training Opportunities

At Strides, we invest in our team. Opportunities may include:

  • Natural Lifemanship® training and certification pathways
  • Ongoing team collaboration and consultation
  • Hands-on learning in experiential and equine-assisted models

Work Environment

  • Flexible scheduling
  • Community-based work (CCS roles)
  • Outdoor and arena-based sessions (equine roles)
  • Team-oriented and supportive culture

Male Skill Provider

About the Role

This position provides services through the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program in home, school, and community settings.

This is a non-equine role focused on real-life skill building and mentorship.

You will serve as a positive male role model, helping clients build trust, accountability, and independence.

What This Work Looks Like

You won’t be sitting in an office. You may be:

  • Supporting a client through a challenging situation at school
  • Practicing coping skills in real time
  • Helping a client navigate relationships and choices
  • Reinforcing how actions lead to outcomes

What You’ll Do

  • Provide Individual Skill Development and Enhancement (ISDE) services
  • Support development of:
    • Emotional regulation
    • Communication and social skills
    • Decision-making and problem-solving
    • Daily living and independence
  • Act as a consistent, positive male mentor
  • Collaborate with Service Facilitators and care teams
  • Complete documentation aligned with CCS goals

Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth, trauma, or behavioral needs preferred
  • Strong relational and communication skills
  • Ability to stay calm, consistent, and grounded
  • Ability to work independently in community settings
  • Reliable transportation required

Why This Role Matters

This is where real change happens—in the moment, in real life.

You are helping clients take what they are learning and actually apply it.
